Coffeecake is cake for coffee

Coffee cake isn't made with coffee. Coffee cake is made for coffee. It's like twins, or partners, or favorite pairs. Like peanut butter and his best friend, jelly. Like salt and pepper. Like hot dogs and their favorite skin lotion, mustard. So if you haven't yet paired coffee with your favorite cake then this will surely not disappoint you! 

 

5 Ingredient Coffee Cake 

Preheat oven to 350F
For the Cake:
1 1/2 cups self rising flour
3/4 cup melted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg

For the Crumble Topping:
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup self rising flour

Melt butter and pour into mixing bowl
Add brown sugar and beat until creamy
Add egg and beat until smooth
Add the flour and mix until well incorporated
Dough will be thick
Spread into pan, top with crumble.
Bake at 350f for 30 minutes. Or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool 1 hour.

Add optional icing if you want it more sweet! 1/2 cup powdered sugar to 2 tablespoons of milk or water - your choice!
